Snow Days
Snow Days:
A Time to Slow Down and Cherish the Moments
There’s something magical about waking up to a world covered in snow. The hustle and bustle of everyday life seems to pause, giving way to moments of pure joy, laughter, and togetherness. This past few days, we had the chance to slow down, bundle up, and head outside for a snow-filled adventure that we won’t soon forget. As I watched my husband and son laughing in the snow—tossing snowballs and building a HUGE snowman—I couldn’t help but be reminded of how precious these moments are. In the everyday busyness of life, it’s easy to forget to pause and simply enjoy each other’s company. But snow days have a way of bringing families together, creating a space for play, connection, and laughter.
I loved watching my son’s excitement as he helped shape a giant snowball with his dad. Their teamwork, laughter, and playful banter made me so grateful for these little joys. It’s moments like this that remind me to cherish the now—to put down my to-do list and simply be present with the people I love most.
As we thawed out inside, drying our snow-soaked clothes, I found myself reflecting on how these spontaneous, unplanned days bring the best kind of memories. Snow days remind us to slow down, savor the beauty around us, and embrace the messiness of family life—the wet gloves, the cold toes, and the endless giggles.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
Whether we’re building snowmen or just watching the snowflakes fall from the warmth of the living room, these moments are a gift. They remind us that the simple things—being together, laughing, and making memories—are what nourish our hearts the most.
To more snow days, more laughter, and more moments to cherish. ❄️💙
